Lasagna Recipe

Meat sauce:
1/2 lb each of ground beef and ground pork
1 clove of garlic, minced
1 Tbsp basil
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 16 oz. can whole tomatoes
1 6 oz. can tomate paste

Cheese filling:
3 cups ricotta cheese
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
2 Tbsp parsley flakes
2 beaten eggs
2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 lb mozzarelly cheese, sliced thin

Brown the meat and drain the fat. Add in the other meat sauce ingredients, mix and simmer uncovered for 1/2 hour, stirring occasionally.

Cook one package of lasagna noodles al dents. Drain and rinse in cold water.

Mix all the cheese ingredients, except the mozzarella. Place the noodles in a 9 x 13 pan. Layer with half of the cheese mixture, half of the mozzarella and half of the meat mixture. Repeat layers. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving. Can be made a day ahead.
