9' unbaked pie shell
30 caramels
3 tablespoons water
5 large apples
3/4 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
dash nutmeg
1/4 cup sugar
1/3 cup butter
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Melt caramels with water in saucepan on low heat. Stir occasionally. Peel and core apples. Put 1/2 peeled apples in pie shell, pour 1/2 caramel mixture over apples. Repeat. Mix flour, spices and sugar in small bowl with butter until crumbly. Stir in nuts. Sprinkle over pie. Bake at 375º for 45 minutes.
