2 c Sugar, 1 1/2 c Shortening, 1 tsp Salt, 2 Eggs, 1/2 c Molasses, 1 tsp Vanilla, 4 tsp Baking Soda, 4 c Sifted Flour, 2 tsp Ginger, 1 tsp Ground Cloves, 1 tsp Cinnamon

Mix ingredients, chill overnight.
Roll into small balls. Roll in sugar. Bake at 350º for 10 minutes or until flat. Makes 8 dozen.
