1 cup flour
1 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 cup rolled oats
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 cup butter (or margarine --better with butter)

1 cup dates
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cup water
Directions:
Directions:
Crumb first 5 ingredients and lightly pack 1/2 of this into a 9x9" pan.

Cook dates, sugar, and water until the dates are soft. Spread over the first layer of crumbs. Put remaining crumbs on top.

Bake at 350º F until brown -- about 35 minutes.
