1 - 10 oz. loaf French bread, cut into 1 inch cubes
8 eggs
3 c. milk
4 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
3/4 tsp. salt, optional

Topping:
2 tbsp. butter, cubed
3 tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. ground cinnamon
maple syrup (optional)
honey (optional)
Cool Whip (optional)
fruit topping (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Place bread cubes in a greased 9x13 baking dish. In mixing bowl, beat eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, & salt (if desired), and pour over bread. Cover and refrigerate for 8 hours, or overnight.

Remove from refrigerator 30 minutes before baking, and dot with butter. Combine sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle over the top.

Cover and bake at 350º for 45-50 minutes, or until a knife inserted comes out clean. Let stand for 5 minutes. Top serving with fruit and Cool Whip. Serve with syrup.
