2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 teaspoons ground cumin
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 – ¼ teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
¼ teaspoon black pepper
1 pound flank steak

Directions:
Preheat the broiler and coat the broiler pan with cooking spray. Combine all of the spices in a small bowl. Rub the mixture over the entire surface of the steak. Broil the steak for 6-7 minutes per side, or until cooked to desired degree of doneness. Let the steak rest on the cutting board for 3-5 minutes before cutting it diagonally across into thin strips. Serve the strips fanned out on the plates.

Note: You can make a double or triple batch of the spice rub and keep in a sealed jar or ziplock with your other spices. Works great on chicken, fish, steaks, and game.
