3 T olive oil
2 T Dijon mustard
¼ c bourbon
1/3 c soy sauce
¼ c brown sugar
2 T red wine vinegar
1 T Worcestershire sauce
2 T minced onion
1 tsp salt
2 tsp pepper

Directions:

Mix everything together.

Pour marinade over 2 tri-tips or skirt steaks in a glass casserole dish and marinate overnight in refrigerator.

Chris got this recipe from Kit Anderson, a friend, who got it from the Rio Del Mar Cookbook. John has built his growing reputation as a barbecue chef by using it with skirt steak. You could also use tri-tip.
