3 loaves stale bread (Italian or French)
5 cups milk
1 stick butter
5 eggs
1 cup brown sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 cup maple sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
handful pecans, almonds, or chopped walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Using the bread crusts, break bread into chunks. Heat milk and add to bread. Mix eggs and add to bread. Sprinkle cinnamon and vanilla over bread. Using hands mix together. Add melted butter and continue mixing. Mix brown sugar and maple syrup together. Add half of brown sugar and maple syrup mixture. Spray glass casserole dish with “Pam”. Turn mixture into casserole dish. Pat down to eliminate air bubbles. Sprinkle nuts generously on top. Pour remaining maple syrup mixture evenly over top. Bake at 350º for 1 hour. Slice and serve warm. Can be microwaved. Serve with sausages, bacon, and warmed maple syrup.
