2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon cloves
1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 cup mashed bananas
1/4 cup orange juice

Optional --1 cup chopped walnuts

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350
Grease and flour a 9x5x3 loaf pan.

Sift flour with baking soda, salt and spices.
Cream softened butter and gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy.
Beat in eggs, one at a time. Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with mashed bananas.
Add orange juice--stirring only to blend.
Fold in nuts and vanilla.
Pour batter into greased loaf pan and bake one hour.
Let cool 30 minutes in pan before removing.
