1 lb. very low fat ground sirloin
1 6 oz. can tomato sauce
1 egg
1/3 cup oatmeal
dash of salt
dash of pepper
dash of garlic powder

Directions:
Directions:
Place meat in a bowl and loosely mix in the oatmeal. Mix the egg, half of the can of tomato sauce and the spices. Add the liquid mixture to the meat mixture and blend all together. Put mixture into a loaf shape oven dish, and pour remaining tomato sauce on top. Bake for about 1 hour at 350º.

In its very original Romanian form, a hard-boiled egg was placed in the middle of the raw mixture, so when sliced, one would see the lovely yellow and white egg slice in the middle of the slice of meatloaf. Unfortunately, I never seem to have the time to hard-boil an egg before rushing to get the meatloaf in the oven However, my family loves the preparation I have shared, so we hope your family will also find it to be tasty and enjoyable.
