Many, many good times!!! Family, family everywhere!!! I remember the days when everyone was under one roof, well almost one roof. Five girls/one boy and six adults makes for a wild and fun house! I loved growing up with my nieces and newphew. We felt more like cousins or even sisters and brothers. I loved riding our banana seat bikes, doing TV exercises every morning during the summer. I remember eating in the living room on Holidays because we weren't old enough to sit at the dining room table with the adults. Although, we had more fun than they did!! I remember walking to Vienna Liquor to buy sandwiches and candy. The tree in the front yard that was shaped like a throne. Pink walls and red carpet! Huge dinning room table and beautiful wood beams in the kitchen. Red brick fireplace and the pink kitchen sink. Wall heater and swamp coolers. Wall of mirrors in Betsy's room and scary nails pointing down from the ceiling. Dad's dark room and library. The brick bbq on the front porch and Easter egg hunts in a maze of tall grass. Gardening with dad and grandpa. Learning how to drive the tractor. Scary outside laundry rooms. Barn full of mysterious treasures. Buttercup, the coolest pony ever. Bunnies and snakes, not a good combo! Grandpa's trailer and the shed that had the 2 lazy2 pee sign, haha! Spending countless hours at grandpa's smelling smoke and learning how to cook napa cabbage salad. Grandpa's hummingbird suncatcher. Grandpa picking me up from school bumping his mariachi music! One day grandpa ran a stop sign and he said, "Oops, guess I'll stop twice next time!" Aunt Barbara's visits. Dad taking me to music lessons. Camping in Big Bear and Lake Cachuma. Listening to Helen Ready and The Carpenters EVERY camping trip, the WHOLE camping trip! The grapefruit tree in the backyard. Picking grapes with my dad off the fence. Running for hours in the back field. Coyotes waking me up and stray cows coming in the yard. Fishing with my dad. Going window shopping on Sundays with my mom and sis and always stopping by the candy store in the Redlands Mall for divinity. Weekends were my mom would rent movies and we would veg and do nothing alllll weekend but watch movies and eat popcorn. Going to the Banning Police station to visit mom. My dad bringing home the Big Rig and parking it on the side of the road. Getting to sit in the drivers seat and having dad release the air in the seat and blow the horn. Mom's stuffed bell peppers. Spending the night at Cindy's and tearing up her closet as Hallie and I would try on everything and model. Going to Jeff and Tammy's apartment in Calimesa and swimming in the pool, that was the big time!! (Even though I couldn't swim, haha.) Grandma and Grandpa Roulands cool house on Beaumont Ave. Their house was perfect for watching the parade in June. Grandpas beers, football (University of Georgia), smoke and tears. I remember seeing Grandma having a beer and being shocked. Grandma's no-no table. Grandpa's velvet naked lady painting and big chair. Grandma always having tea and toast for breakfast. Aunt Myrtle always soooo sweet and kind but could put grandpa in his place in a heartbeat! Grandma giving us Tums as candy. Driving in the back of the truck sitting on bails of hay. Driving in the trunk of moms station wagon with Beth and practically peeing our pants laughing! Lisa cutting my barbie's hair and then running away because I told her mom, haha. Watching Gabe play hockey and Hallie in hilarious plays at school. Scaring all my nieces and nephews driving them on the dips in Cherry Valley. Birthday dinners at Denny's. Thinking I was old enough to take care of Anna and Cody when they were born. Thinking Uncle Bob and Aunt Juane were so cool and amazing dealing with the tigers and rock bands! I thought Meleia was sooo cool because she could surf! Wow, that's a lot and I have soooo much more. What wonderful memories I have with a wonderful and loving family!
