Boil one bunch of asparagus for only 12 minutes in salt water
Place in baking dish in layers with grated swiss or Parmesan cheese between. Chop one small onion fine and brown in 1 tbl of butter and pour over the asparagus. Sprinkle top with a little cheese and fresh bread crumbs.

Cook in a moderate over for 15 minutes.
Canned asparagus may be used but don't boil it.
