1 unbaked 9" pie crust
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 cup light corn syrup
3 eggs, lightly beaten
1/3 cup butter, melted
1/3 tsp. salt
1 tsp vanilla (or rum)
1 1/2 cups pecan pieces or halves

Directions:

Heat oven to 350º
In a large bowl, combine corn syrup, sugar, eggs, butter, salt and vanilla; mix well (this is the filling)
Pour filling into pie crust
Sprinkle with pecan pieces
Bake for 50-60 minutes until center is set
Cool before eating

This is based on an old Dear Abby recipe and it is a winner! Everyone loves it, sweet but not too sweet. A little whipped cream or ice cream on top is a good addition. It's a Thanksgiving favorite in our family.
