2 eggs, beaten
1 cup sugar
2 T. soft shortening
3/4 cup buttermilk
3 1/2 cups flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 - 3/4 tsp. nutmeg
Directions:
Directions:
Beat sugar and shortening into beaten eggs. Stir in buttermilk. Sift together flour, powder, soda, salt and nutmeg, stir into wet mixture. Roll 1/3 " thick cut w/ doughnut cutter, deep fry, 350º.
