Ingredients:
2/3 c. shortening or margarine
3/4 c. granulated sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
4 tsp. milk
2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Thoroughly cream shortening, sugar, and vanilla. Add egg; beat till light and fluffy. Stir in milk. Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt; blend into creamed mixture. Divide dough in half. Chill 1 hour. On floured surface, roll to 1/8-inch thickness.* Cut in desired shapes with cutters.
Decorate as desired. Bake on greased cookie sheet at 375°F about 6 to 8 minutes. Cool slightly; remove from pan. Cool on rack. Makes about 2 dozen
cookies.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
*Roll only half of dough at a time; keep remainder chilled for easier rolling. I always multiply the recipe - at least twice, sometimes times 3 - it doesn't seem worth
going to all that trouble for 2 dozen cookies!
Have fun!
