3/4 c. (175 grams) butter
1 c. (225 grams) sugar
1/4 c. (60 grams) molasses
1 egg
2 c. (450 grams) flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground ginger
1/2 tsp. ground cloves

Directions:
Directions:
Grease a large pan. Melt the butter. Mix in the sugar and molasses. Beat in the egg. Combine the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, ginger and salt. Stir the flour mixture into the molasses mixture. Spread into the greased pan. Sprinkle with 2 T. sugar. Bake at 190°C/375°F for 12-15 minutes.
