1 package Dry Yeast
2 cups warm water
4 eggs
1/2 cup sugar
pinch of salt
grated lemon rind (about 1 tsp)
5 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
Stir yeast and warm water in small bown.

In large bowl (or mixer) beat 4 eggs. Add 1/2 cup sugar, salt, lemon rind. Mix well. Add yeast/water mixture. Add flour and blend well. Let Rise for 2 hours. Dough will be soft and spoonable. Using an electric deep fryer, drop tablespoons of dough into hot oil and fry until golden brown. Roll in sugar and serve warm.

This is my mom's recipe. It's another dessert that many ethnic groups make. My dad's family called them "Zippole", my mom's family called them "Fritole" and our Croation friends call them "Pusharate."
