1-1/2 cups water
½ cup soy sauce
3 cloves garlic, minced
¾ tsp. ground ginger
½ lb. chicken livers
½ lb. bacon
3 tbsp. butter or margarine
2 (5 oz.) cans water chestnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Prepare sauce by combining water, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger. Cook chicken livers slowly in butter for 5 minutes. Remove and cut into quarters. Slice water chestnuts in half. Marinate chicken livers and water chestnuts in sauce for 1 hour. Drain on absorbent paper. Cut bacon slices in half and wrap each piece around a portion of chicken liver and water chestnut. Fasten with wooden toothpick. Broil for 3 minutes or bake at 400º for 20 to 25 minutes or until brown.
