Brownies:
4 oz. unsweetened baking chocolate
1 c. (2 sticks) unsalted sweet butter
1 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
4 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chocolate chips (optional)

Peanut Butter Ripple:
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. crunchy peanut butter
1/2 c. flour
2 eggs

Icing:
2 1/2 c. powdered sugar
1/2 c. butter
2 tsp. vanilla
2 T. milk
1/2 c. creamy peanut butter

Brownies:
Pre-heat oven to 350º. Grease a 13x9 inch cake pan and set aside. Melt chocolate and butter together in top of a double boiler set over hot water. (If you do not have a double boiler, us a glass bowl on top of a saucepan with boiling water.) Stir flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt together in a separate bowl. Add the melted chocolate mixture and beat eggs in one at a time. Add the vanilla and chocolate chips and stir well. Pour batter in to pan and spread evenly
Ripple:
Mix all ingredients for the ripple together. Drop by spoonfuls into the brownie batter. Swirl with a knife. Bake in oven for 30 minutes. Brownies should be firm to the touch, but not hard. Remove and let cool.
Icing:
Beat butter with 1 c. powdered sugar until smooth. Slowly add remaining sugar, vanilla, and milk and beat until smooth. Add peanut butter and beat well until blended. Spoon icing on top of cooled brownies and spread. Cut into desired size.
