1 c. cornmeal
1 c. milk
3/4 tsp. salt
1/4 c. bacon dripping
2 eggs - beaten
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 can cream style corn
1 lb. ground beef
1 large onion
1 green bell pepper
1 clove garlic
grated cheese of choice

Directions:
Directions:
Mix cornmeal, milk, salt, bacon dripping, beaten eggs, baking soda, and corn together in a bowl and set aside.
Brown ground beef and drain grease from pan. Add onion, bell pepper, and garlic to ground beef and cook until soft.
Put half of the cornmeal mixture into a 9x13 inch baking dish. Layer the meat mixture over the cornmeal mixture and then cover the meat with grated cheese. Cover with the rest of the cornmeal mixture.
Bake in a 375º oven for 45 minutes.
