3/4 c shortening Topping
11/4 c boiling water 1/4 c sugar
1 c chopped dates 1/2 c nuts
1 c sugar 6 ounce pkg choc chips
2 eggs
2 c flour
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp cocoa
1 tsp soda
Directions:
Directions:
Pour boiling water over dates in small bowl, let cool. Cream shortening and sugar, add eggs beat well. Sift flour with soda,salt and cocoa add to shortening alternating with dates. Spread into a 9 x 13 pan and sprinkle topping mixture over the batter. Bake in a 350º oven for 35 min.
