1 C shortening
1/2 C butter
1 1/3 C sugar
1 C packed brown sugar
4 eggs
3 teaspoons vanilla
1 teaspoon lemon juice
3 C flour
1/2 C quick cooking oats
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
4 C chocolate chips
2 C nuts

In a mixing bowl, cream shortening, butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Add one egg at a time beating well after each addition. Add vanilla and lemon juice. Combine the dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture and mix well. Stir in chips and nuts. Drop by 1/4 cup fulls 3 inches apart on to a lightly greased baking sheet. Bake at 350 for 14-15 minutes or until lightly browned.
