Make favorite 2 crust pie recipe
6-8 tart apples (6 cups)
3/4 c sugar
2 T flour
1-2 tsp cinnamon
dash nutmeg, salt
2 T butter

Directions:
Directions:
If apples lack tartness, sprinkle with 1 T lemon juice.In large bowl combine sugar, flour, spices and dash of salt. Mix with apples and add about a tablespoon of water to make sure everything mixes well. Line a 9" pie pan with pastry. Fill with apple mix, dot with butter. Apply top crust, cut slits for steam, use pastry brush to "paint" top crust with any remaining juice left in apple bowl. Bake about 50 minutes at 400º oven until it starts to bubble in center. If edges start to burn, cover with foil.
