1 c. butter/margarine
1/4 c. butter
1/3 c. cocoa
3 Tbs cocoa
1 c. water
3 Tbs buttermilk
2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
2 1/4 c. sifted confectioners sugar
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp salt

2 eggs, slightly beaten

1/2 c. buttermilk

1 1/2 tsp vanilla

For brownies:
In a large bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, baking soda and salt. Stir in eggs, buttermilk and vanilla. In a saucepan, combine butter, cocoa and 1 cup water. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; add to flour mixture and mix until blended. Pour into a greased 15 1/2" x 10 1/2" x 1" baking pan. Bake at 375ºF for 20 minutes. Immediately pour frosting over brownies, spread evenly. Cool, then cut into bars.
For frosting:
In a saucepan, mix butter, cocoa and buttermilk. Cook and stir until boiling. Remove from heat. Beat in confectioners sugar, nuts and vanilla.
