5 small apples, chopped
2 c. sugar
3/4 c. shortening, melted and cooled
3 c. flour
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp allspice
3 eggs
1 c. chopped walnuts
1 c. raisins

Directions:
Directions:
Put apples in a large bowl and cover with sugar. Let set for 10 minutes. Melt the shortening and let cool. Pour the cooled shortening over the eggs and mix. Sift the dry ingredients together and add to the egg mixture and mix well. Stir in the chopped walnuts and raisins. Pour into a prepared tube pan and bake at 350ºF for 50-55 minutes.
