2 1/2 or 3 lbs. pork spareribs- have the butcher crack the bones in a couple of places.
Sauce:
1 can (lg) tomato-(Puree)
1 tbsp. chili powder
2 tbsp. sugar, or 1/4 c brown sugar
1/4 cup vinegar
Salt and Pepper

Directions:

Dust spareribs with flour, salt and pepper-brown in a high oven in an open baking pan. 450-500

After spareribs brown, turn oven heat down 325 degrees. Pour sauce over ribs to barely cover then bake, adding more sauce every half hour or so until all is used--bake about three hrs. After sauce is used baste every so often with the sauce in the pan.
