1/3 c cocoa
1 c sugar
1/3 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda - rounded

WET
1 1/4 c buttermilk or sour cream
1/3 c melted shortening or butter
1 tsp vanilla

sift all dry ingredients together three times
add in all wet ingredients - beat well
bake at 350º

Joyce was deathly allergic to eggs so this recipe allowed her to indulge her chocolate cravings! I think this cake is better tasting than one with eggs.
