Buy paper goods and canned goods in bulk at places like Costco. When you are out shopping and hit a great sale, stock up on sale items that you can use in the near future. Just make sure that you have a specific person or event in mind. When you get home, wrap the item and stick a tag on it so that you aren't tempted to clutter up your own home. Recently, I hit a great sale at Joann Fabrics. I was able to stock up on 8x10 blank canvases, candles, and decorative boxes for $5 each or less. These all make great gifts and art projects for the kids to do during the holiday season.
