2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1 stick butter
1/2 c. shortening
4 T. cocoa
1 c. cold water
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
3 eggs

Icing:
1 stick butter
4 T. cocoa
6 T. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 lb. box powdered sugar
1 c. chopped nuts (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400º. In large bowl sift flour and sugar.
In saucepan bring to a boil butter, shortening, cocoa, and cold water. Pour over flour and sugar and mix well.
Add buttermilk, vanilla, cinnamon, salt, baking powder, and eggs. Mix well and pour batter in a well greased jellyroll pan (15 1/2x10 1/2 inch).
Bake at 400º for about 20 minutes.
Just before cake is done mix icing and bring a boil. Remove from heat stir in vanilla. Add small amounts of powdered sugar while beating smooth until all powdered sugar has been added. Mix in nuts.
Spread icing over cake while hot.
