1 c. evaporated milk
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 3/4 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
2 eggs
1 c. chopped walnuts or pecans
1 1/2 c. coconut

Directions:
Directions:
Mix shortening, sugar and eggs. Add 1/2 cup of milk or more if needed. Sift flour, salt and baking soda. Stir into egg mixture, add nuts and coconut. Chill one hour. Heat oven 375º drop by spoonfuls. Bake about 10 minutes.

Burnt Butter Glaze:
Heat 2 T. butter until golden brown. Add 2 c. powdered sugar, beat until smooth. Canned milk may be added if needed.
