Salad:
1/2 cup sliced almonds
1 tsp. butter/margarine
3 tbsp. sugar (Splenda can be used)
1/2 head of lettuce, torn into bite size pieces (or use the bagged romaine)
2 sticks celery, sliced
2 green onions, sliced
1 can (11 oz.) Mandarin oranges, drained
Sliced avocados are optional

Dressing: (mix all 5 ingredients in a jar you can shake)
1/4 cup oil
1 tsp. parsley
2 tbsp. sugar (Splenda can be used)
2 tbsp. apple vinegar
2 dashes Tabasco sauce

Directions:
Directions:
Mix almonds, butter and sugar (the 1st three ingredients) and cook over low heat until liquefied. Set aside. Mix lettuce celery, onions, oranges and avocados in large bowl. Toss with liquefied ingredients and set aside. Pour dressing over mixture.
