2 lbs. lean ground beef
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 large white onion, finely chopped
2 (15 oz.) cans tomato sauce
1 tbsp. dried basil
1 (8-10 oz.) package spinach fettuccine noodles
1 c. shredded cheddar cheese
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
1/2 c. sour cream
1/2 c. low-fat milk

Brown beef, garlic and onion in large skillet until crumbly, seasoning with salt and pepper if desired. Drain fat. Stir in tomato sauce and basil; bring to a boil. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes. In the meantime, boil 5 qts. water. Cook noodles al dente according to package directions. Drain well.

Spoon meat into a 3-quart casserole dish. Top evenly with noodles and sprinkle with the cheddar cheese. Whip together the softened cream cheese, sour cream and milk until smooth; pour mixture on top of casserole. Bake uncovered at 350ºF for 40 minutes or until bubbly and lightly browned.
