2 large eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. lemon juice
2 heaping tsp. nutmeg
2 cups sugar
1 heaping tsp. of baking soda, dissolved in 1 cup milk
1 cup melted shortening
3-4 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
Beat eggs, vanilla, lemon juice, and nutmeg until light and fluffy. Add sugar, milk with baking soda and melted shortening. Add 3-4 cups of flour to make a stiff dough. Roll out on floured board to about 1/8" thickness. Cut and place on sprayed cookie sheets. Bake at 350º - 400º for about 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Makes about 100 cookies of average size.
