Robert and I had the pleasure of fairly regular visits from Fran in New York as she was departing or returning from travels with American Airlines. The most anticipated visits were on her return, as her suitcase would be brimming with treasures. Somehow she would make it up to the third floor walk-up apartment with a suitcase larger than she was. Out would come a bottle of wine, and if we were especially fortunate, our favorite bag of AA mixed nuts. And always a small treasure from a far flung destination. We would retreat to the deck (think: Hitchcock's Rear Window) and partake of sustenance and friendship. She would be on her way back to Columbus all too soon. Her suitcase, still bulging and full of treasures, to share at home with George,George and James.
