Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 c. white sugar
1 large handful of brown sugar
1 stick butter
2 eggs
2 1/2 c. flour (top cup when rounding)
2 rounded tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup sweet milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 - 2/3 c. chopped walnuts
1/2 c. white raisins

Directions:
Directions:
Cream the white sugar, brown sugar and butter together. Beat in the eggs. Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt. Add to the creamed mixture alternately with the milk and vanilla. Stir in the walnuts and raisins.

Drop by spoonfuls on greased sheet. Bake at 450º (a hot oven) for approximately 7-9 minutes, until the center is slightly firm to the touch. You may try baking just one cookie first to be sure of enough flour.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Anne provided this recipe at Trisha's request and says that she remembers these as the cookie that Grandma made the most often. She always stored them in a little round roaster layered on waxed paper. My memory is of Grandma baking these during one of my visits and putting one walnut half in the center of each cookie before she baked them. I don't believe she added the walnuts and raisins to that version. Maybe it was because she knew I didn't like raisins!
