Pastry Chip
2/3 cup flour
1/4 t baking powder
3 1/2 T butter
2 t sugar
1 egg yolk
1-2 T milk

10 cooking apples, peeled and quartered

Sauce
4T water
4T sugar
2T butter

Directions:
Directions:
For Crust - Pulse in processor or mix by hand , make into dough disc and roll out to same size as round cake pan. Bake flat 15 min 375 F.
Apples - Put in casserole dish, brush with butter and cook 20 min at 425F. Cool.

Make sauce in sauce pan. Pour this on the bottom of a round cake pan . Put cooled apples standing up around edge and fill in the middle (I sprinkled the apples with cinnamon and sugar). Cook at 300F for 30 min or until tender and juicy. Cool. Put cooked pastry chip on top. Turn onto a platter and serve with creme fresh or whipped cream.
