Ingredients: 1/2 cup sugar 2 Tablespoons butter or margarine 2 Tablespoons water 1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate chips 1 cup milk chocolate chips 2 eggs 1 tsp vanilla 2/3 cup flour 1/4 tsp baking soda 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 cup pecan pieces
Caramel Topping 25 wrapped caramels 1/4 cup butter or margarine 2 Tablespoons milk

Directions:1.Heat oven to 350º. Line 9 inch square baking pan with foil, extending foil over edges of pan. Grease and flour foil 2. In medium saucepan combine sugar butter and water; cook over medium-low heat, stirring constantly until mixture boils. Remove from heat. Immediately add semi sweet chocolate chips; stir until melted. Beat in eggs and vanilla until well blended. Stir together flour, baking soda and salt; stir into chocolate mixture. Spread batter into prepared pan. 3. Bake 15-20 minutes or until brownies begin to pull away from sides. Meanwhile remove wrappers from caramels. In medium microwave-safe bowl, place butter or margarine, caramels and milk. Microwave high 1 minute; stir. Microwave additional 1-2 minutes stirring every 30 seconds or until caramels are melted and mixture is smooth when stirred. Use immediately. Remove brownies from oven; immediately and carefully spread with prepared topping. Sprinkle milk chocolate chips and pecans over topping. Place back in oven for 1-2 minutes to partially melt chocolate chips. Cool completely in pan on wire rack. This may take around 4-5 hours. |
