2 eggs, beaten
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking powder
1 c. sweet milk
3 c. flour
2 tbsp. shortening, melted

Directions:
Mix in order given. Chill thoroughly. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Roll dough until 1/2 inch thick. Cut dough with a floured 2 1/2 - inch doughnut cutter, dipping cutter into flour between cuts. Fry doughnuts, 2 or 3 at a time, in deep, hot oil (375º) about 1 minute on each side or until golden, turning once with slotted spoon. Drain on paper towels.
