3/4 c. vegetable shortening
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1 egg
1/4 c. water
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. oats, uncooked
1 c. all purpose flour
1 tsp. salt (optional)
1/2 tsp. soda
Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Beat together shortening, sugars, egg, water and vanilla until creamy. Add combined remaining ingredients, mix well. Drop rounded teaspoons onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350º for 12 to 15 minutes. Makes about 5 dozen cookies.
