MawMaw stated on the recipe that this recipe was from Agnes Crawford and was actually her preferred recipe over her families version. I still have her hand written recipe if any one wants a copy, it's sweet. MawMaw showed me how to do these one fall day while I was in college. PawPaw said I would never bake like this because people just don't bake like this anymore. MawMaw and I were both upset by his honest commit and told him so. He was right. Ouch. I still have Maw Maw's beater and pink rose towel she used to cover her dough while it was rising.
