6 dried figs
1/2 cup simple syrup
2 tablespoons brandy
1/4 cup chopped hazelnuts
24 baguette slices
olive oil
1/2 cup pecorino Romano cheese
1 large apple
1/4 pound chunk of pecorino Romano

Preheat over to 375'
In a small sauce pan add figs simple syrup and brandy. Bring mixture to a simmer. Turn off heat and let sit for 10 minutes. Place fig mixture and hazelnuts in a food processor and blend until pureed. Set aside.

Place baguette slice on baking sheet, drizzle with oil, top each with grated pecorino Romano and bake until bread is toasted and cheese melted.

Top each slice with 2 teaspoons of fig jam, slice of apple, and piece of shaved Pecorino Romano.


simple syrup: 1/2 cup water
1 cup sugar

Combined water and sugar in a saucepan over med heat. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes until sugar dissolves. Take off heat and cool.
