Ingredients:  
1 cup sugar, 2 and 1/2 sticks butter, 3 cups plain flour, 1 egg, pinch of salt.

Directions:

Cut butter into flour until mixture is crumbly. Add sugar, salt and one beaten egg. Knead into a ball and roll to 1/4 inch thickness to cut out cookies. (may need to chill dough). Bake on greased cookie sheets 12 to 15 minutes at 350º.

These are not terribly sweet, which make them ideal for decorating with icing and other confections. Tina Bakker was wonderful mom to Joop Bakker, Linda Powell's high school sweetheart. This recipe was one she used as a girl growing up in Holland. She pressed the dough into small tin molds and filled them.
