1 c. shortening
1 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
3 c. quick oatmeal
1 12 ounce bag chocolate chips
1/2 c. chopped nuts
2 eggs, beaten
1 1/2 c. flour

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening, sugars and vanilla. Beat in eggs and mix well. Add flour, oatmeal, salt and soda. Mix well. Add chocolate chips and nuts. Chill for at least 2 hours. Roll dough fairly thin and cut into shapes. bake on well greased cookie sheet for 12 minutes at 350º.
