4 ozs. unsweetened chocolate
3 tbsps.. butter
1 1/2 cs. sugar
2/3 cup boiling water
1/4 cup corn syrup
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Melt chocolate and butter. Heat water to boiling add to butter and chocolate. (Mixture will appear light in color, curdled and very thick.) Add sugar and corn syrup and heat to a low boil. Keep at a low boil and cook for 9 minutes WITHOUT stirring.

Do NOT try to do this in the microwave--especially the cooking for nine minutes! This recipe can be doubled , or tripled or whatever easily. Adapted from one of the Silver Palate Cookbooks.
