Ingredients:  
4 T. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 t. cinnamon
4 T. water
4 bananas, quartered
4 scoops vanilla ice cream

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter. Add sugar, cinnamon, and water. Stir over heat until sugar dissolves. Saute bananas in sauce until slightly browned.
Place bananas around each portion of ice cream, and spoon hot sauce over the top.

Mother made Bananas Foster often for dessert, and I think she said it was one of Colleen's favorites. This recipe was in her file, and I assume it is the version she used. (I have seen recipes for this that include rum and chopped nuts also.)
