2 cups mixed nuts - minced
2 cups flour
1 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp.salt
1 tsp. grated orange rind
1 tsp. vanilla - (Optional) - (Other variations of this family recipe omit the vanilla)

10x confectionery sugar - (for coating)

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all ingredients except confectionary sugar together. Roll into small balls (about 2" or smaller and place on cookie sheet. Bake at 350º for 12-15 min. until bottoms are golden brown. Roll the semi-cooled cookies into confectionery sugar. Coat well and place on cookie sheet to cool completely.

Diane also makes these yummy cookies. Her recipe is:
1 lb butter
8 tablespoon sugar
4 teaspoons vanilla
5 cups flour
1 cup chopped walnuts
Same directions as the other. Note that the butter has to be soft. Dad's favorite!!!
