1 Cup butter or marg.
1 cup sugar (white)
1 pkg vanilla sugar or 1 tsp. extract
3 eggs – beaten
Pinch salt
2 ¼ C Flour
1 heaping Tsp. Baking Powder
½ cup milk
For chocolate portion:
3 TB. Cocoa powder
3TB sugar
3TB milk
Rum for flavoring

For the cake: cream the butter and add the sugar and beat until light. Then add: eggs, vanilla. Add the flour a bit at time alternating with the milk. The batter will be quite a firm batter.

Prepare a bunt or loaf pan and drop 2/3 of the white batter into the pan – do not stir.

To the remaining batter add the cocoa powder, sugar and milk.

Spread some of the dark batter in around the light batter in the pan. Draw a knife thru the 2 batters to swirl together.

Bake 350 time: 45-55 mins. Test with a toothpick

Does not require anything; but you can drip a chocolate glaze over the Kuchen once cool or just sift with icing sugar on top.
