4-1/2 Cups Sugar
2 Teaspoons Cinnamon
1 Teaspoon Salt
1 Cup Cornstarch
1/4 Teaspoon Nutmeg
10 Cups Water
3 Tablespoons Lemon Juice
7 Quarts Sliced Apples


Directions:
Directions:
Cook the first 6 ingredients until thick, then add the lemon juice. Pour over apples. Place all ingredients in clean sterilized jars leaving 1/4 head space. Cap and put in a water bath for 20 minutes. Remove from canner. Let cool. Store in a cool area. May be used for filling in a pie, or in a cobbler with crust topping, or crunch topping, or served with ice cream.©
