3 - 4 large peppers, with tops cut off
1 lb lean ground beef
c. cooked rice
1 tsp. each of onion powder and black pepper
1 egg lightly beaten
1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce, divided
2 tsp. beef bouillon granules

Directions:
Directions:
Place peppers in 3 quart microwave proof baking dish. Cover and cook on high 4 minutes. Combine the rest of mixture and 1/2 c. tomato sauce. Mound beef mixture in peppers. Cover with wax paper and cook on high 10 minutes, rotating once. Combine rest of tomato sauce and bouillon granules, pour over stuffed peppers. Cook uncovered on high 5 minutes.

This recipe is from the Bethesda cookbook with Aunt Bert's name (church & community icon) along with Libby Perry (local hair stylist). Mother would make stuffed peppers in the summer with the bell peppers from the garden but her recipe was different containing potted meat and a tomato sauce mixture.
