1 lb. butter
1 1/2 lb. peanut butter
1 1/4 c. brown sugar
5 c. granulated sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
5 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
5 1/2 c. flour
1 tbsp. + 2 tsp. baking powder

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter, peanut butter, and sugars until well blended. Add eggs and then the rest of the ingredients. Mix well. Make into rolls and wrap in waxed paper or foil. Refrigerate. Slice and put onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake at 375º for about fifteen minutes. The length of time depends upon how thinly sliced.

Although this recipe is large, it came from a school and originally called for 5 lbs. butter, 6 cups of brown sugar, 24 eggs, etc. I was afraid to cut it down any more than this. The children always loved these cookies.
